What a day for Rainbows NJ! Riders After the Storm Motorcycle Run a Huge Success!!

On a beautiful, sunny October 4th afternoon, the Cranford Elks Motorcycle Club sponsored our First Annual “Riders After the Storm” Motorcycle Run to benefit Rainbows NJ. More than 200 motorcycle riders, friends, and sponsors from across New Jersey participated in the motorcycle run, which started at the Cranford Elks Lodge in the morning, and ended at the Watchung Elks Lodge in Warren that afternoon. The sky was bright blue, volunteers were energized, and the riders enjoyed a beautiful fall day with 75 degree temperatures, lots of great food and refreshments, fabulous entertainment by “Southern Shift” and Elvis impersonator Joe Inacio, and a chance to make an important contribution to help support grieving children and families through Rainbows in New Jersey. The Rainbows NJ State Chapter Advisory Board would like to express their heartfelt appreciation, and a special THANK-YOU to Paul Gualano from the Cranford Elks Motorcycle Club, for his tireless efforts in coordinating details of the event on our behalf. Thanks to his many hours of hard work publicizing the event on Q104.3 radio, and to other motorcycle clubs across the state, Rainbows NJ was able to raise much-needed funding to help bring this important program to even more children who are struggling to heal through a life-changing family loss, and to raise awareness for our programs within the motorcycle club community for next year’s event. Thank you Paul, and all of the riders and supporters who helped make this day a HUGE success, we truly could not have done it without you!

Counseling & Support Organization

Dear John, Board of Directors and Members of the Cranford Elks Motorcycle Club,

Rainbows of Cranford has just finished its winter session. Due to the generosity of your organization we were able to help more than 25 children, from the ages 4-17. The children experienced a variety of losses. Some children had parents who died or were divorced. Other kids were abandoned and left in the care of a remaining parent or extended family. Their hurt during the first session (Oct-Nov) was palpable. By the time the second session arrived (Feb-Mar) the kids were able to express their feelings and get rid of some of the hurt they had inside. Your kindness and generosity made all of this possible. One child asked his facilitator who he would have to talk to now that Rainbows had ended. She reassured him that he could always call her and that Rainbows would be back in the fall.
Thank you, again, for making all of this possible and for helping us to help the children of Cranford and the surrounding communities.

Gratefully yours,

Renee Faller
