WHY: To show our thanks and support to the families

of our Fallen Heroes, our Wounded Warriors

and the brave members of our military from NJ

for their dedication and sacrifice in defending

our Freedoms.

COST: $25 donation per adult

$5 donation for a child under 10 yrs. of age

TIME: The picnic will start at noon and end at 4:00PM

The cost of admission will include food, refreshments and entertainment. Join us in paying tribute to our brave members of the military on this day of celebration.

We ask that all attending bring an item(s) of need for our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Please give from your heart to make their lives more comfortable while separated from their families.

Army of Hope Picnic “WISH LIST” Items for Our Troops Overseas

Priority requests: Bug Spray (non-aerosol, pump only), fly strips, hand sanitizer, mouthwash, AA batteries, Hard candies, antibacterial baby wipes, Calling Cards (AT&T), Silly String

Food and Snack items: Small, light, personal size portions only (Zip-Top or Easy-to-Open cans. Please, new items only. NO CHOCOLATE

Breakfast-type foods and drinks are most needed. Canned fruit (small flip-top cans only), pre-sweetened powdered drinks (Kool-Aid, Gatorade, etc.), instant/regular coffee, Beef Jerky, Slim Jims, canned nuts, potato sticks, Pringles, Doritos, etc. Lil’ Debbie snacks, brownies, snack cakes, etc, (nothing with icing that will melt). Hard candy, gum, trail mix, sunflower seeds.

Nothing that melts! (Chocolate) No large cans, please.

Personal Items: (Small sizes, please)

Anti-fungal foot treatment - athletes foot cream, foot powder (no aerosol), band aids, Feminine Products, Razors, Socks, Suntan Lotion, Q Tips, cough lozenges, small Kleenex packs, combs, paper, pens, envelopes, lip balm, q-tips, nail clippers, eye drops, flip flops/shower shoes, small containers of Tylenol, Motrin, etc., toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, shampoo/conditioner, small packets of laundry detergent

Entertainment:

Beanie Baby toys for the soldiers to give to kids.

Comic books, paperback books, crossword puzzle magazines. Please NO Hard Cover Books. They weigh too much and drive postage sky high.

Local newspapers, magazines

Newly purchased items only. Please watch the expiration dates on canned goods.

There are few restrictions:

No Alcohol in any form.

No Pornography. No Magazines that depict the human body (male or female) in an undressed state (IE: Swimsuit issues, body building magazines, Victoria's Secret). No weapons of any sort.

Note: Due to concerns for the health and safety of the soldiers please do not send home-cooked food or baked goods to our troops. Factory packaged only.
